beginner competitions to learn Machine learning by kaggle

Kaggle hosts a specific tier of official, permanent challenges called "Getting Started" competitions. These are designed by Kaggle specifically for beginners to learn foundational machine learning and deep learning concepts. They have rolling leaderboards and offer a massive library of community-shared tutorial notebooks.

🖼️ Computer Vision (Image Data)

This is the official MNIST competition. The task is to take gray-scale images of handwritten single digits (0-9) and correctly classify them. It is the perfect introduction to neural networks and Computer Vision basics.

📊 Tabular Data (Spreadsheet / Rows & Columns)

Globally recognized as the absolute first step for any Kaggler. You are given a spreadsheet of passenger data (age, gender, ticket class) and must predict who survived the shipwreck. It teaches binary classification, data cleaning, and handling missing values.

Instead of predicting a "yes/no" outcome, you predict a continuous numerical value: the final sale price of homes based on 79 explanatory variables. It is excellent for mastering regression, feature engineering, and gradient boosting algorithms like XGBoost.

A sci-fi spin-off of the classic Titanic dataset. It uses a slightly different flavor of tabular data where you predict which passengers were transported to an alternate dimension.

📝 Natural Language Processing (Text Data)

The official text starter pack. You analyze a dataset of real tweets to build a model that predicts whether a given tweet is talking about a real, physical disaster or just using metaphorical language.
